In MPPEH handling, safety and accountability come from following the official disposal procedure with proper authorization. After something is render-safe, it should be disposed only through the documented disposal SOP, with explicit approval from Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). This ensures the item is managed under controlled conditions by qualified personnel, reducing the risk of accidental detonation or mishandling.

Labeling communicates the hazard and status to anyone who might handle it, preventing confusion or re-exposure. Maintaining records provides a clear trail of what was disposed, when, where, and by whom, which is essential for accountability, compliance, and future safety audits.

Disposing in regular waste, or burning on site without the necessary approvals, or disposing without records, bypasses safety controls and can create serious safety and legal issues.
